Aldi shoppers have been given a jump scare this Halloween, as they are urged to return a former specialbuy as a “precautionary measure”.
The specialbuy in question is the wax burners and tealight house, with a cost of £5.99, relates to the Halloween themed pumpkin version of the ornament.
Customers are being urged to return the Halloween themed ornament in exchange for a full return on the purchase price.
This comes after Aldi had to recalled their Bramwell’s Tartare Sauce earlier this month due to it containing sulphites that were not mentioned on the labels.
The reason behind the recall is due to the item being a “fire hazard” the brand has stated and that the issue initially started with products in the Republic of Ireland.
An Aldi spokesman told the York Press: “As a precautionary measure, we are recalling this product.
Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.”
We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.”
Jayden Robinson, 18 said: “I think it’s quite a haunting show of negligence for such an immense brand.”
There are 4 Aldi’s in York for you to choose to return this dangerous treat to; Fulford Road, Water Lane, Kathryn Avenue or Robertson Close.
