England fly half and captain Owen Farrell could be set to miss the Six Nations after being cited for a dangerous tackle against Gloucester Flanker Jack Clement.
The Saracens number 10 put in a high tackle then made contact with Clement’s head.
Karl Dickson made no decision on the pitch and Farrell went on to score a game winning drop goal in the dying stages of the game.
If the incident is seen as a mid-range incident Farrell is set to be banned for six weeks which could be reduced on appeal.
England begin the Six Nations in four weeks at Twickenham against Scotland and they will be hoping to have their captain available to play in his 11th Six Nations having made his debut in 2012.
Farrell has one top-end offence to his name coming in 2020 when he was banned for five weeks for a challenge on the Wasps player Charlie Atkinson.
Farrell’s hearing will take place tonight at 18:30 GMT and will be heard by a disciplinary panel headed by Philip Evans with Becky Essex and Mitch Read.
