With Halloween approaching and many people trying to decide what they want to do on Hallow’s eve we decided to take a look at the best events in York for adults.

Thursday 31st October will mark the 2024 edition of Halloween and York has a fruitful of events to offer so here’s our top 6 events that will occur in York this Halloween.

6. Bottomless Brunch, Revolution, 26th October 12pm-6pm, £70-£140 + fees

Are you interested in having a “fang-tastic” time? Are you looking for a boozy Saturday before Halloween? Then look no further than Revolution’s bottomless brunch. With tipsy treats and Halloween inspired cocktails Revs have set up a fantastic event for all to indulge in.

With food in between the drinks will be flowing and all bottomless for two hours at one of the designated time spots of 12pm or 4pm. Costumes are also encouraged to allow the fun to flow and to make the event entertaining and to keep the Halloween theme going.

The only downside to this event is the fact that it costs so much, costing £73.50 for two people, £110.25 for three and £147.00 for four people (or £36.75 per person).

5. Ziggy’s Halloween Haunted Mansion, Ziggy’s, 31st October 10:30pm – 3:30am, £4-£6

Boasting a tagline “fancy dress strongly encouraged” this party at Ziggy’s sounds like the boozy Halloween weekend everyone wants. A prize awarded to the best costume too creates for a real originality conundrum when it comes to designing a costume.

Greeted by a free shot on entry and for a very reasonable price, with long hours and a mixture of music this could be the perfect night for any under 25 looking to let loose and have some relaxed chilled fun on Halloween.

The downsides of this event is that it is only available to under 25s and students and entry can be refused without valid identification to prove age.

4. Open Decks, Polymath, 31st October 8:00pm – 12:00am, Free

“Are you a DJ ready to haunt the decks” then look no further than the free open decks night going on at Polymath on Halloween night. Beginning at 8:00pm this event lasts four hours until midnight potentially leaving enough time for you to attend another event after going and hitting the decks beforehand.

Why not have a go at spinning some tunes and help yourself to make it a party night for everyone and see what reception you get from the people in the audience.

The downside of this event is people will need to bring their own USB with downloaded songs and their own headphones as the event at Polymath will not be providing these for people but for a free event it’s more than worth it, into the top three.

3. Night Market, York Castle Museum, 26th October 7:00pm – 11:00pm, Free

A night of festive fun, involving shopping and activities, what more could you want? Dress up and get yourself along to the Castle Museum for some spooktacular fun, and did we mention it’s free?

With a variety of vendors broadcasting a wide selection of Halloween themed stores and products with everything you could think of based upon the scariest season of them all. With fun for all the family what more could you need?

York Castle Museum do not run the event and it is run by an external organisation.

2. Indie Halloween, Ziggy’s, 29th October, 11:00pm – 3:00am, £3-£5

A fan of indie music? A fan of Halloween? Good, now imagine them combined and that’s what this Tuesday night Halloween party has to offer and for a price of just £5 maximum.

With a full decorated venue, costumes welcome and the opportunity to suggest songs for the playlist (by messaging @yorkindie on socials) a superb night featuring some of indies biggest names such as Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, Sam Fender and many more what more could you desire for a party?

The only downside to this event is its popularity and people are recommended to be there before half past eleven in order to actually be able to get entry.

1. Secret Rave, Undisclosed Location, 31st October, 10:00pm – 3:00am, £3-£10

Well, here we are then the number one event to attend over Halloween in York is the secret rave in a currently unknown location, which is due to be revealed to those who purchase a ticket on the day.

Boasting insane DJ’s, 600+ people in attendance, Halloween décor and festival style production this event is shaping up to be the biggest event in York this year and surely a once-a-year thing for those attending, all for a very reasonable price.

If you want a ticket to the York event of the spooky season you best get them now as they are on final release and once they’re gone they are gone for good.
