Jay Bothroyd has become the latest entitled Arsenal fan to speculate about Alexander Isak’s future.
Speaking to Sky Sports today, the ex-England striker said “With all due respect to Newcastle, they’re on an upward trajectory, they have got the Saudi backing and they’re a very good club, but Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in the world. The biggest clubs in the world can go and take players off Newcastle. We have seen Man United do it, Real Madrid do it and Man City go and do it.”
With all due respect to the former Gunners academy man, the last time one of Real Madrid, Manchester City or Manchester United took a player off of us it was Shay Given in 2009 and that was a Manchester City side fresh off of the back of a takeover.
What makes this even funnier to me is that it comes one day after Isak praised St James’ Park and Newcastle fans.
So surely our Swedish striker is off to nowhere and surely even a ‘pundit’ as skilled as the one cap wonder Jay Bothroyd can see that?

The Midlands based club have missed 19 big chances according to FotMob, and find themselves top of the table when it comes to least missed, with three less than Everton.
Newcastle by contrast rank middle of the table in 10th with 34 big chances missed.
Interestingly Wolves find themselves 10th in goals scored with 31 goals this season, whereas we sit 7th on 34.
So despite being down different ends of the table, both teams have similar scoring fortunes.
So on the subject of scoring any predictions for tonight Toon fans?

Isaac Hayden – The most senior player we have out on loan, Hayden made his full debut for Portsmouth in their 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough where former mag Matt Ritchie scored both goals. Hayden played decently putting in a 6.7 according to FotMob and having an 80% pass accuracy before being substituted off in the 69th minute. His next game is against Stoke on Wednesday evening.
Joe White – Poor day at the office for Joe White and MK Dons as they lost 4-2 to league leaders Walsall to make it one win in their last seven. White played just 22 minutes, placing his passes accurately in that time with a 95% passing accuracy but scoring a 6.0 according to FotMob. The phoenix club take on Fleetwood Town tomorrow evening.
Harrison Ashby – QPR won their clash against bottom of the table Plymouth and were unlucky to only win 1-0 with Plymouth keeper Grimshaw playing a blinder. Harrison Ashby had to watch on for the majority of the match as he came off the bench for just four minutes and had seven touches of the ball in his entire time on the pitch. It has to be said after his performance in the FA Cup against Leicester where he put in a 3.4 match rating is that any surprise? His next opponents are Hull tomorrow evening.
Max Thompson – He didn’t have his finest game of the season as Chesterfield were held to a 1-1 draw with fellow playoff hopefuls Grimsby. Thompson played the full game, conceding one, making one save and sweeping up at the back a further three times earning him an average rating of 6.5 according to FotMob. Chesterfield take on Port Vale on Saturday at 3pm.
Midorag Pivas – Pivas wasn’t on the bench as Willem II drew 1-1 with current Eredivise champions Feyenoord.
Charlie McArthur – Thrown in at the deep end by Mike Williamson, McArthur played the full 90 in a 1-0 loss to Bradford for Carlisle to remain bottom of the table. He got booked on his debut but made six clearances, one block, had a 72% pass accuracy earning himself a 6.7 match rating according to FotMob.
Travis Hernes – Not too much information is available about Hernes debut on the internet but he played 44 minutes on his Aalborg debut as they were beaten 2-0 by Viborg.
That’s your loan roundup for the week, who do you think played best?
